CLUB RAT stands for Rotterdam Art Tour and also the night creature that is mostly active during the night.
CLUB RAT is an app where the clubbers can follow an art tour on. This art tour is an alternative night out for the clubbers that can't go to the most important place for them, the club. The club is where they come together with friends and like minded people. It's a place where they emerge them self in the music that is playing by the dj. Where they are dancing in the laser lights like there is no tomorrow. Be amazed by art and visuals. And when they need a break, they grab a drink and are heading to the chill out area to have a chat with a stranger. When the morning come's and they leave the club, nothing beats a greazy snack before they are heading home.

Now that the clubs are closed and party's are sort of forbidden. There is a huge gap for these clubbers. CLUB RAT is an alternative for them where these aspects mentioned above comes together in an art tour during the night.

The art tour exists of 16 art pieces, 8 controllable light sculptures and 4 chill out art pieces that are part of the BKOR collection. On the tour there will also be a silent disco at 2 art piece stops, where the clubbers can connect their phone with, plug in their headphones and enjoy music by their favourite dj's that are playing on a live stream organized by the club.

During the tour the clubbers can stop at 3 night shops and 3 fast food places that are part of the the tour and where they can show their personal discount barcode to get 10% off drinks.

The walk is between 1,5 to 2 hours. And the event will take place at June 25th & 26th 2021 and is from 23:00 - 04:00.

To promote the event, these event posters will be spread around Rotterdam to notify the clubbers about the event. I made this poster in a party event style to get the attraction of the clubbers.

The poster contains the CLUB RAT logo and the text 'An art tour night out' to inform the user what it is. All the aspects that the tour will have are lined up in a way like it is an actual line up of dj's that are playing for a party event. On the poster their are also the dates when the event will be on, the time that the event will be taken place, the starting point of the tour and the price for a ticket.

At the bottom you can find some information about where to download the app for the tour and also a heads up for the clubbers to bring their own headphones they need for the silent disco.

The tour starts AT WORM. This is a club in Rotterdam and the entrance is also part of the BKOR Collection.

At Worm the clubber buy's the ticket for 15 euros.

On the ticket there is the CLUB RAT logo and a small introduction of what is included in the art tour.

With a personal code that can be found on the ticket, the clubber gets access and entrance to the app after they fill this in. In this way everybody needs to buy a ticket if they want to use the app. They need the app for the tour, personal discount and to connect their phones with the silent disco.

When the clubber opens the app, they will see a loading screen with some of the elements they recognize from the event poster.

After the loading screen, they will land on an information page where they get some information about the tour and all the possibility's where they have access to. Because i want to inform them a bit on what things they can expect. After reading this, they can enter their personal code and when that is done they can start the tour!

When the clubber entered their personal discount they get an overview of the route that they are going to take. But what they are visiting and where all these art pieces are located, is a mystery. A regular club night is also a big mystery and you never know at the start of your night out how things will go. That's why I want to keep things a little mysterious and also to make the clubber a bit curious.

When they click on start the tour. The first navigation starts. The clubber will be lead by a GPS navigation and also have access to a step by step navigation. The navigation is every time from 1 stop to another. So they know where they are and where they are going to. This makes it easy and understandable for the clubber and not to complicated. When they have arrived at their next destination they can click on the 'Arrived? Click here!' button and that will lead them to the art piece information page. Where there will be a interactive function for them.

COLLECT THE 16 ART PIECES

When the clubber lands on the information page of a street art piece. They have the possibility to get some information about the art piece by clicking on the info tab. By clicking on the tab the user gets some background information about the piece and who it made.

During the tour, the clubber can collect the 16 art pieces. It is a fun and interactive little game during the tour.

They can click on the 'Collect the art piece' button. They will go to a camera function where they have also the possibility to get some information about this function by clicking on the 'How does this work' button. Once they make the picture they can save this to their collection. If they click save, they will go to the Save page where they have the option to view their collected art pieces or go to the next destination

Once when they have all collected the 16 art pieces, the clubbers will be rewarded. If they collect all the pieces, they get a voucher for a free greazy snack at Eethuis Fafi, the last stop of the tour. In this way the clubbers can end their night out just like a regular club night, by eating a snack before they are going home. The voucher can be found in the art piece collection and they can show it to the person behind the bar at Eethuis Fafi to get a free snack.

The 8 light sculptures can be controlled by the clubbers. Normally they will dance in the disco lights of the clubs. Now they can control those lights. They need to scan the QR-Code and after that they will get access to the controlling of the light color for 1 minute and when the time is up, the controlling for that sculpture is blocked. So other people can also do this and not one person will claim the light sculpture for too long.

NIGHT SHOPS AND FAST FAST FOOD SPOTS

Staying hydrated and eating during a night out is very important, that's why there are night shops and fast food spots to get some food and drinks for during the tour. All these places are part of the tour and that's why the clubber get's 10% discount off drinks.

Music is of course an important aspect of a club night. That's why there is a silent disco located at two art piece stops during the tour. The dj's are playing on a live stream organized by the club and the clubbers can tune in. They need to connect their phones with bluetooth to the silent disco transmitter which is located at the art piece, plug in their own headphones and enjoy the music. Because the art pieces are located at places where people live, the silent disco is the best option because nobody has any noise disturbance.
